I struggled with weight, food, emotional eating, and a general lack of trust in my body for almost 10 years… 10 years! You can read about all of the juicy details here, but I basically tried every diet out there. Even the Ice Cream Diet. Seriously, I actually own that book. I went through a lot of helpless moments. A lot of ups and downs- emotionally, and with my weight. The diets and restriction weren’t working, because they were no fun and impossible to keep up. I just kept searching for an easier answer and for something to just “click”.
Throughout the 10 years that I battled with these issues, I learned more than I ever thought I could about myself. I dug really deep, read a ton of books, graduated from a Nutrition School, worked with a lot of people, and thankfully came out on top. Today I have no stress regarding food, my body, the tantalizing warm bread basket that is delivered to my table with honey butter, or figuring out how to fit in exercise. The best two words I can use to describe the feelings I have now, having overcome my anxieties and struggle, are totally free and incredibly empowered.
And that brings me to today. I am deeply dedicated to helping others get to this point. To helping YOU. I know how life-changing it can be to not only restore your relationship with food and with your body, but your relationship with yourself. It impacts your entire world and allows you to live a vibrant and FULL life.
Things I am not about:
- Deprivation and Restriction
- Extreme anything… exercise programs, eating regimens, etc.
- Cookie cutter eating plans
- Anything boring. Boring food, boring exercise, boring days.
What I totally believe in:
- You’re special and unique. Let’s find something that works for you.
- Defining your OWN rules.
- Having fun with exercise. Learning to look forward to it.
- Creating meals that nourish your body and leave you with the thought “I can’t wait to make that again”
- The Bread Basket. I want you to embrace the Bread Basket (and the butter). And chocolate, and wine, and whatever else may strike your fancy. Life is too short to not have these things. Let’s figure out a way that you can, with zero guilt. And zero weight gain.
I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2010 with a degree as a Certified Health Coach. While there, I was trained in over one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. On top of that, I have 10 years of serious real life experience.
And I can’t wait to help you.
